Sat 15 October | Peranakan Museum Singapore | 2:00pm - 4:30pm | 2.5-hour workshop | Ticket includes all workshop materials and supplies, and admission to Nyonya Needlework exhibition

Love the look of block printing on fabric but don’t have time to carve your own block?

Use specially pre-carved Peranakan inspired linocut blocks to create your artwork in a streamlined workshop designed for busy beginners. Enjoy printing in your favourite Peranakan colours and make a fully washable unique textile creation.

This workshop covers practical and low-cost techniques of printing at home with readily available materials. Linocut block printing is often considered an easier alternative to screen printing or silkscreen printing for those just starting out in printmaking.

Your bespoke length of fabric can be hand-washed and great as an interior decoration or as a 'furoshiki' handkerchief. Take home your hand-carved block for use in future projects – cards, gift wrap, or even wallpaper!
  • Use of unique hand-carved block library
  • Selection of customised popular Peranakan textile inks
  • Hands-on instruction from a professional printmaker and artist
  • Approximately 55cm length of un-hemmed pure cotton fabric
  • Student Pack with instructions and supplier information
  • Optional hemming service available at $20
Skills: Motif Creation, Image Transfer, Basic Linocutting & Water-based Fabric Block Printing

Fee includes the use of all tools and materials. Refreshments provided for printing power! No art experience is necessary.

Limited to 20 pax per session on a first-come, first-served basis.
